The program Inter-sectoral Coordination for Prevention and Control of Zoonotic Diseases was approved in the 12^th Five year plan (2012-17 )

Objectives - To strengthen the Inter-sectoral for prevention and control of Zoonotic diseases of Public Health Importance.

Strategies of the programme are a under

• Strengthening of inter-sectoral co-ordination between Medical , Veterinary, wildlife sector and various relevant stakeholders for prevention and control of zoonotic diseases
• Trained manpower development
• Sensitization of professionals in various sectors ( i. Medical , Veterinary etc .)
• IEC to create awareness among community and

The program is continuing under Umbrella Scheme of NCDC (Part B) as per SFC meeting held on 16.8.2017. The proposed outlay for the program during 2017-18 till 2019-20 is       Rs 8.26 Crore .BE allocated during the year 2018 was 177 lakhs

Activities undertaken in last one year i.e. 2018-19 -

• Interectoral coordination- To institutionalize the “ONE HEALTH” approach at National level – Collaboration with DADF, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare (MoA & amp ;FW) for development of technical guidelines for animal component of rabies control has been done. MoU is proposed to be signed between DADF, MoA & amp; FW, MoH & amp; FW, Wild life institute of India for prevention and control of Zoonotic Disease in India including rabies. Preliminary meeting on Proposal for signing of MoU between Technical Stakeholders for Strengthening Inter-sectoral Coordination for Prevention and Control of Zoonotic Diseases in India held in February,
• State & District level initiatives- 14 States constituted State Level Zoonosis Committee (SLZC) for intersectoral coordination for prevention and control for zoonosis. Formation of district level committee zoonosis committee is under progress . Follow up is being done with rest other
• Technical support activities- Organized a two day “National Multi Stakeholder Technical Workshop for strengthening inter-sectoral coordination for prevention and control of zoonotic diseases” in Joint collaboration with DADF, Ministry of Agriculture and CDC India on 27^th and 28^th February 2019.SOPs for priority zoonosis ( Rabies, Anthrax, Scrub typhus, Leptospirosis etc.) are being formulated with the consultation of stakeholders and State
• IEC activities - Communication was made with all states/UTS to observe World zoonosis day observed for raising awareness of medical and vet. Professional on 6 ^th July 2018 and few states undertook activities at state and district level for raising awareness among professionals and general community. Division also participated in activity organized by for at Safdarjung medical Delhi for generating awareness among medical and vet, students on 6 the July

   Capacity building of States-

• 11 Regional coordinators (Medical/ Veterinary colleges/ Institutions) under the programme have been identified and approval of Ministry and IFD for fund transfer to r 4 regional coordinators ( NRC equine Haryana, RMRC Port Blair, NIVEDI Bangalore, SMS medical college , Jaipur has been obtained and as funds could not be transferred in FY 2018-19 will be transferred in subsequent year.

• Under IDSP programme for Intersectoral Coordination - 13 States/UTs have appointed Veterinary consultant, 22 States/UTs out of 36 have established Rapid Response Teams ( RRT) &374 districts have established Rapid Response Teams ( RRT).
