Establishment and strengthening of NCDC Branches

“Establishment of 30 Branches (including 8 existing branches) of NCDC in all States and one UT of India” scheme has been approved by Planning Commission on 31.12.2012 and by Standing Finance Committee (SFC) on 24.04.2015

The NCDC Branches will provide State of Art Laboratory with sophisticated equipments to provide diagnostic support to State Government in diagnosis of emerging and re-emerging diseases. The manpower support of experts in Public Health, Microbiology, Entomology and other Paramedics/ Technocrats will be provided by NCDC. It will further enhance the capacity and capability of Disease surveillance, outbreak/s investigation and rapid response to combat outbreak in State. This will, however, depend on the allotment of 2-3 acre of land free of cost by the state Govt. as share/contribution of the state Govt.

Major achievements are as under:-

• Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed with 11 states till date viz. Jharkhand (08.11.2016), Arunachal Pradesh (05.10.2016), Tripura (16.05.2017), Madhya Pradesh (22.11.2017), Manipur (11.04.2018), Himachal Pradesh (09.05.2018), Kerala (14.06.2018), Gujarat (23.07.2018), Bihar  (22.11.2018), Nagaland (05.12.2018) & Uttar Pradesh (08.03.2019).

• Land has been registered in the name of Director, NCDC in the state of Jharkhand (05.12.2018) and Manipur (22.10.2018).

• Lease deed has been signed with Govt. of Kerala (11.07.2018), Nagaland (05.12.2018), Bihar (13.03.2019) & Uttar Pradesh (15.07.2019).

• Foundation stone has been laid in the state of Manipur on 05.03.2019.

• Construction work of NCDC branch in Jharkhand and Manipur is on-going.

• Preparation for organizing foundation stone laying ceremony in the state of Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Jharkhand, Bihar & Nagaland is underway & to be done by Hon’ble Health Minister, Govt. of India and Chief Minister of respective states.
